Kalpeshwar Temple of Lord Shiva in Uttarakhand

Unlike other Panch Kedar temples, Kalpeshwar Shiva Temple can be visited all the year round irrespective of the adverse climatic conditions prevailing. The traditional priests of this temple are assumed to be the descendants of Adi Sankaracharya. The divine idol of Kalpeshwar Temple is worshipped in the form of matted tresses of the god and hence Lord Shiva is known by the name Jateshwar or Jadadhar. The Kalpavrisha at this location which is believed to be the fulfilling tree is popular because of the ancient saints who had chosen this venue for their routine meditation.

The Buddha Kedar Temple which is only partly viewed from the potato fields is on the way to the Kalpeshwar temple.
